Senator Michaelia Cash was sworn in as the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women on 18 September 2013.
Senator Cash is part of the team that is delivering on the Coalition Government’s promise to protect our borders and stop the boats.
Prior to entering Parliament, Michaelia was a senior lawyer with a national law firm Freehills in their Perth office.
Senator Cash holds an Honours Degree in Law from the University of London. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Social Science) from Curtin University in Perth, graduating with a triple major in public relations, politics and journalism. In addition, she holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Western Australia.
Senator Cash is married to Richard Price, a barrister. She is the daughter of former Minister in the Western Australian Government and former President of the Legislative Council, the Hon George Cash AM.
